The Best Vintage Clothing Stores in Sydney

Sustainable and savvy, these are the best vintage clothing stores in Sydney.

Di Nuovo

Sydney is a city full of thrifting ops of all kinds meaning there's no excuse not to be on the reduce, reuse, recycle train. Whether you're up for a trawl through big warehouses or you prefer your vintage goodies handpicked and curated beforehand, there's a vintage clothing store in Sydney for you. Whilst Surry Hills and Newtown remain two of the most popular suburbs for a second-hand shop, plenty of gems are cropping up in between. Here are our favourites.

SWOP

SWOP

At first glance, SWOP may appear as a regular retail store - what with their on-trend curations. But the genius' behind this multi-store outfit exclusively sell items sourced direct from the community. Anyone can bring in clean, seasonal pieces in exchange for cash or store credit. They go out of their way to source pieces for everyone too, so whatever size you're after, you'll be able to find something in-store. If you get overwhelmed trawling through racks and racks of vintage, this minimalist joint might be your ticket into the second-hand world. Brands like Aje, Ganni and Acne regularly grace the shelves.

Savers

Opening later this month, Savers new Sydney store is a response to the growing demand for sustainable, second-hand items - we love to see it. With a commitment to keeping things affordable, this globally renowned thrift retailer keeps most items priced under $10. You might have to dig but it makes finding the gems all the more worth it.

Mitchell Road Antique & Design Centre

Mitchell Road Antique and Design Centre

Around the corner from The Grounds of Alexandria is Mitchell Road Antique and Design Centre – a supersized vintage marketplace. You could spend hours wandering around the various different stalls, trawling through retro homewares and clothing that dates back from the Victorian era and all the way up to the 20th century. You might have to do some digging but if you find what you're after, it's likely to be for a bargain price.

17 Bourke Road, Alexandria

Round She Goes

Round She Goes

So, this one isn't a shop but it's on twice a year so we're going to include it anyway. The Round She Goes market boasts over 60 stalls of retro frocks, pre-loved designer garb and original accessories that get you feeling fresh and fine. What we love about this market is that all stalls are handpicked and curated by the organisers, so you won’t have to rifle for long before you find something you love.
