Montarna McDonald's Favourite Hangouts in Paddington

Beyond its bohemian roots, leafy streets and heritage buildings, Paddington is a stylish enclave that connects the grungy Inner City to the fashionable Eastern Suburbs. Someone who is well versed in on what's hot in this trendy enclave is Paddington local and PR powerhouse Montarna McDonald. We sat down with The Audience Agency founder, to get her hit list of stylish places to dine, shop and hang out in Paddington.

Favourite place for...

Coffee?

Paddington Grind, for the caffeine hit and the cool vibes.

Breakfast?

Jackie's Café – a Paddo institution.

Brunch?

Alimentari, my little slice of Italy close to home.

Leisurely lunch?

Barbetta; this bustling Italian opened under The Audience Agency office earlier this year and the whole team is obsessed.

Lunch on the go?

Fish Bowl, both fast and healthy.

Dinner?

Bar M

The best cheap eat?

Sushi Train on Oxford St – a lifesaver for busy publicists looking to grab a quick bite.

Fancy dinner to impress?

Fred’s, so chic with amazing food and great for spotting famous faces.

After work drinks?

The Paddington Inn; it’s close to the office and an easy hangout for post work wines.

Local date night?

Cipri – what can I say, I’m a sucker for Italian!

Girls night?

10 William, fun place to start the evening.

Walk/run

Centennial Park, my daily walkies destination with Harper.

Where do you go to...

Find a last-minute dress?

Parlour X, Oxford Street.

Hang out with the girls?

My courtyard at home, we’ve just finished renovating the space and I love hosting drinks there.

Have a romantic night?

A drink at Charlie Parker followed by dinner at Fred’s.

Get your hair done?

MOB Hair in Bondi – worth the drive, believe me!

Get your nails done?

Paddington Nails.

Tanning?

The Parlour Room

Indulge?

William St Chocolate Shop – I have a raging sweet tooth.

Shop for fresh produce?

Maloney’s Grocer.

Shop for your beach/holiday essentials?

The Intersection Paddington; the chic precinct has collections from all the Aussie designers.

The best...

Sunday session?

We love hosting people at home so I’d say having our friends over for lunch and drinks on a Sunday - but if we were to go out it would be The Paddington Inn, a favourite of our gang.

Kept secret in your hood?

Barbetta – but judging by the queues for tables, I think the secret is now out!

Ways to spend a Sunday in Paddington?

I’d normally find myself at a sporting event with my family at the stadium.

Gyms/fitness studios?

KX Pilates and Flow Athletic.
