The Butcher's Block
People from all over Sydney flock to this Upper North Shore cafe institution for their breakfast bellinis and impressive brunch. The chic eatery is home to a light-filled terrace, bordered by a herb garden which creates a gorgeous oasis in the heart of the Wahroonga shops.
Danes Gourmet Coffee
It’s all about the beans here. Coffee beans, that is. This little cafe is both a retail outlet for Dane’s Gourmet Coffee (the coffee supplier) as well as a traditional café with breakfasts, lunch and cakes. The café definitely lives up to the coffee empire’s reputation and the street side seating is the perfect spot to soak up the weekend sun.
Campos coffee is on offer at this Wahroonga favourite, alongside delicious pastas, salads, sandwiches and wraps. Perfect to grab a takeaway lunch, or a family size lasagna to take home for dinner. They also have a ‘happy hour’ for pasta, which sounds like a pretty fabulous idea to us.
The ethos behind Café Patina is to serve the type of food our grandmothers made – un-processed and home made. Everything from their peanut butter to their milkshake flavours are homemade which brings an honest and wholesome touch. The interiors are dark and heritage style but the café has a leafy outlook across the park from the outdoor terrace.
Coffee is the focus here at Replay. It’s a household name in the area, for their specialty coffee and delicious breakfast bites. The menu is unique and sets itself apart from other cafes in the area – the fact that they sell “crushed avo” not “smashed avo” is a reflection of how they’re just a little bit different to your basic brunch joint. What’s the difference between crushed and smashed avo you ask? You’ll have to try it to find ...
Karoo & Co
Nestled amongst the leafy Wahroonga shops, Karoo & Co is a cosy Italian eatery that serves up wholesome breakfast fare by day and hearty pizza and pasta dishes by night. Drop by in the morning for their toasted panini with jam and honey (made in their woodfire) or swing by in the evening for their woodfired pizza with all the formaggio your soul needs and wants.
Base and Burger - Turramurra
Meat, seafood and vegetarian pizzas with a gourmet edge. Feeling more like a burger? This boutique takeaway joint will hook you up with classic Aussie burgers, that are a touch fancy. They also support local schools and give back to the Turramurra community in more ways than just keeping them well fed!
Specialty coffee bar first, café second, Vertical is stand out on the North Shore. Located next to Turramurra station, these guys serve Gabriel coffee in a industrial warehouse space with hanging plants and exposed brick - you know the deal, but you wouldn’t expect something like this, somewhere like this. And that’s what makes it’s a must-try, and try again and again and again.
This little café on the corner of Turramurra shop, Twenty 74 caters to the family friendly community of the area as well as the young brunch go-ers of the Upper North Shore. Their menu is creative and healthy which makes way for their coffee which is pure caffeine indulgence.
