Second-Hand Furniture in Sydney

Mitchell Road Antique & Design Centre

Mitchell Road Antique and Design Centre

Around the corner from The Grounds of Alexandria is Mitchell Road Antique and Design Centre – a supersized vintage marketplace. You could spend hours wandering around the various different stalls, trawling through retro homewares that date back from the Victorian era and all the way up to the 20th century. The coolest part is, if you can’t find what you’re after, the centre’s dealers will put it on their ‘wish-list’ and try and source it from somewhere for you. Winning.

The Powderworks Warehouse

The Powderworks Warehouse

There's a lot less rummaging to do at Powderworks as the collection here is highly curated by sisters Robbie and Amanda. That means the prices are a little more than your typical second-hand furniture store, but these impeccably preserved antique pieces are well worth it. You can rest assured knowing each piece is as unique as they come with a story to match. There's a little something for everyone from premium French furniture through to mid-century gems. You're bound to have a ball sifting through the multitude of treasures here. And, if you need some decor for the walls, consider yourself sorted.

Robin's Nest

Robin's Nest Vintage

For all those with a penchant for relaxed coastal, Hamptons and classic French decor, Robin's Nest is the second-hand furniture store for you. You'll find plenty of lovingly restored pieces in this petite store alongside a selection of Annie Sloan's popular chalk paint should you wish to revamp something yourself. Prices are extremely reasonable, too, so you'll likely save plenty of cash!

105 Miranda Road, Miranda

Lunatiques Vintage and Design Collective

Make a beeline to this homewares bazaar, Lunatiques Vintage and Design Collective in Mascot which is a collection of individual dealers, furniture makers, collectors and designers all under the one roof. The coolest part about this form of marketplace is that all the wares reflect the individual styles of each stallholder, meaning you can peruse a very eclectic array of antiques, retro and rustic furniture, décor and memorabilia.  When you get a little weary, pop on over to their on-site café for a much-needed coffee re-fuel.

Reverse Garbage

Reverse Garbage is a non-profit cooperative with an environmentally friendly purpose (they want to minimise landfill by encouraging re-use of materials that would otherwise go to waste.) Come armed and ready to rummage around in this chaotic (but incredible) second-hand treasure trove. Search through vintage antiques, indoor and outdoor furniture or pick up old off cuts to make your own furniture yourself.

Rozelle Collectors Markets

Rozelle Collectors Markets

If you’re looking for furniture at affordable prices you might want to think about heading to one of the many markets in Sydney on the weekends. Not only are the prices budget-friendly but the ability to haggle with the stallholder is always an attractive possibility. Our pick is the Rozelle Collectors Markets – an open-air market held at Rozelle Public School, that comes brimming with second-hand furniture. A bargain hunter’s paradise.

663 Darling Street, Rozelle on Saturdays

Looking for more second-hand furniture in Sydney and don't know where to start? One of our favourite things to do each weekend is to explore Sydney's markets. From pre-loved furniture to one-of-a-kind artisan homewares, you are bound to find something you love!
