With an enviable (and jaw-dropping) publishing career spanning over 20 years, Lynette Phillips decided to switch gears and focus her attention on building a full-service media agency for premium lifestyle brands. Now the CEO and Founder of MAXMEDIALAB, Lynette’s roll call of clients reads like a who’s who of luxury brands, we’re talking Moet & Chandon, Audi, Ralph Lauren, Prada, Giorgio Armani and Marc Jacobs Beauty to name a few. There’s no denying that Lynette knows what she’s taking about when it comes to luxury lifestyles and the places to go in Sydney to impress. Basing herself in Alexandria, we caught up with Lynette to talk design, travel, kids and all her go-to local haunts.
Q&A with Lynette
What inspired the MAXMEDIALAB fit-out and why Alexandria?
I’ve always been inspired by my travels, particularly New York, which is a great source of inspiration. Where do you and your staff like to eat and drink in Alexandria?
Alexandria has grown so much, so we are really spoilt for choice. My staff tend to go to;
When you need a break from it all, what are your favourite holiday destinations and where do you stay when you’re there?
Most recently, I discovered Kokomo Island in Fiji. I also love One & Only in Dubai as the service and hospitality is second to none.
For the past three consecutive years, I have visited Mexico and the Patrón Hacienda. Making your way through vast agave fields and the traditional distillery is an experience like no other.

Every morning is an organised chaos, but I always make sure my children Oscar, Holly, Louis and Luella are set for the day, and I check in with my partner Lance before I leave.
