For lovers of all things creative, handcrafted and artisan, this bi-annual market will spark delight and empty wallets – you have been warned. Designers and makers will showcase everything from ceramics and homewares to ethical fashion and jewellery, while a line-up of wholesome food trucks sort out lunch.

Surry Hills Markets

The place to find a bargain, Surry Hills Market is all about handmade, second-hand and recycled goods. A market that showcases local creative talent, Surry Hills Market is where Sydneysiders go to for vintage, antique and cutting-edge designs, as well as market staples such as pre-loved books, beauty products and bric-a-brac.

Every weekend The Rocks plays host to a tantalising food fair and market that brings together the sights, scents and sounds of street food around the world. Lovingly prepared by talented providores – from biltong and gozleme to artisan chocolate and Venuzuelan arepas – there are too many delectable dishes to taste test. But of course, you can give it a good try.

It’s easy to lose a day in Glebe Markets, wandering around stalls that are brimming with cutting-edge fashion, design, jewellery and accessories. The much-loved sellers of second-hand books, bric-a-brac and clothes have always had their place at these markets. In the midst of all of this are artisan producers and stalls selling delicious, ready-to-go meals to the crowd who linger on the lawn listening to the live music.

This inner-city market steps it up a notch every Sunday in an area that’s already so bright and vibrant. Come Sunday, the iconic El Alamein Memorial Fountain is brimming with stalls chock full of fresh flowers. Let your inner-florist shine as you make your way through the markets, creating your perfect posy.

Spruce up your wardrobe with quality vintage finds at the Round She Goes market. Over 60 stalls hawk retro frocks, pre-loved designer garb and original accessories that get you feeling fresh and fine. What we love about this market is that all stalls are handpicked and curated by the organisers, so you won’t have to rifle for long before you find something you love.

The Makers and Shakers Market Sydney

The Makers and Shakers Market

All about connecting the maker with the buyer, Marrickville's The Makers and Shakers is considered one of Australia's premier markets. Teeming with local artisans selling their beautifully created homewares, clothing and art, you'll find so many gorgeous, one-of-a kind pieces at this buzzing bazaar. If all the browsing and shopping gets too much, don't worry; local eateries Flour and Stone, Nutie Donuts, Smoking Gun Bagels and Mister Toast will keep you well fed and watered.

Hosted at foodie hangout The Tramsheds, The Maker’s Nest’s bi-annual market celebrates all things handmade. From art and ceramics to fashion and jewellery, the beauty of this marketplace is that you get to meet the maker. Better still, there’s live entertainment and plenty of delicious cafés and restaurants to get a bite and while away the afternoon

Paddington Markets

At the fashionable end of Oxford Street, Paddington Markets is an echo of the boutique shopping in the surrounding area. There are over 150 stalls offering creative fashion, accessories and art – much of it is Australian designed and made, and exclusive to Paddington Markets. There are new traders every week – always a reason to come back and explore what these markets have to offer.
