Eyebrows have come and gone in history (quite literally), but none other have been quite like the trendy lush arches of Brooke Shields. And it’s certainly back in vogue. But for those of us who are not naturally blessed in the brow department, there are thankfully a handful of beauticians who have been trained to pluck, shape and tint to perfection. Here are the best eyebrow studios Sydney has to offer.
* In light of COVID19, be sure to call the salon ahead of time to make an appointment. That way, they can accommodate you in line with social distancing rules and regulations.
For a luxury beauty experience, make an appointment to see the Aussie queen of brows, Sharon Lee. Her new Woollahra salon is positively dreamy ̶ think soft pastel tones and rattan furnishings ̶ and as soon as you arrive, you'll be greeted by a complimentary beverage, plus a quick hello from the cute salon Shih Tzu, Eli. The warm, attentive stylists will make you feel right at home while they beautify your brows, and with a huge list of treatments on offer, you may as well stay for the hot wax hand treatment and leave feeling like a queen.

For high-end professional eyebrow treatment, Suzi White and her team are the go-to. They also do hair, make-up, facials, skin rejuvenation and IPL hair removal. Suzi is a whizz with tweezers so book in for one of their Hollywood Brows services (i.e. waxing, tinting etc) to completely redefine the shape and look of your brows.
Avalon and Double Bay
This Double Bay salon is a sleek space dedicated to the perfecting of arches and it is where Sydney’s eyebrow queen, Kristen Fisher, works her magic. A bevy of highly trained experts work tirelessly to tame brows into shape. Alongside shaping, tweezing and tinting, the salon also now specialises in feather touch tattooing for those not born with naturally thick brows.

The Brow Bar’s team of “arch-angels” do the full shebang – waxing, tweezing and colouring until your eyebrows are perfectly shaped and red carpet ready. They custom blend colours to match your skin tone and can also lighten your brows if necessary. With this much attention to detail, it’s no surprise celebs like The Veronicas are regulars.
Mosman and Woollahra
Arches are catered to by petite beauty boutique HoneyTusk, which has outposts in Freshwater and Rozelle. The salon focuses on everything brow and eye related, with a signature sculpt. There are also threading, waxing and henna options, as well as a duo of eye treatments on offer designed for those suffering from the physical downsides of modern lifestyles.
Rozelle and Rozelle
Taking perfectly groomed arches to the masses is the Benefit Brow Bar. The cosmetics company is as famed for its tongue-in-cheek marketing as it is for its lengthy brow and lash offerings in the cosmetics world. Now the brand offers a handful of in-store salons for polishing arches across the country, the best part of which is that there is no need to book.
Selected Myer and Sephora Stores
With an A-list clientele (Naomi Campbell and Delta Goodrem to name drop), you know that Amy Jean is a dab hand at brows. The Sydney team offers everything from brow sculpting to cosmetic tattoos and lash lifts, but rest assured, you can keep things in good order when out of town at one of their four signature salons across Australia.
St James Trust Building, Suite 618, 6/185 Elizabeth Street, Sydney
The team here take their brows seriously, employing a brow re-engineering and re-structuring method to make arches as proportionate and flattering to each individual as can be. This isn’t a brow option for the faint-hearted, but a six to nine week growing program that will help to change your arches permanently for the better.
