Croydon Park is green and very family-friendly, with many children attending the excellent local primary schools. Croydon Park, Flockhart Park, Jackson Park and Martin Reserve are among the suburb’s most popular parks and playgrounds, filled with exercise groups during the week, and families and picnickers on the weekends. Keen cyclists make use of the Cooks River Cycleway. This scenic route stretches all the way from Homebush to Botany Bay, and is bordered by lush parklands.
 
Georges River Road serves as the main shopping strip. It’s lined with staples like pharmacies, supermarkets and delis, as well as specialty stores and local businesses. For even more shopping options, Westfield Burwood, Ashfield Mall and Marrickville Metro are a short drive away. The cafes and restaurants along the strip have an international flavour, pointing to Croydon Park’s vibrant, culturally diverse population. And the Croydon Park Festival, held annually, brings the whole community together for a day of eating, shopping, live music and entertainment.
