Take the night off and treat yourself to takeaway from one of these hotspots. Oh, and as a bonus: most of them deliver straight to your door!

A Fish Called Coogee

Nothing screams ‘Sydney’ more than eating fish and chips on the sand, and A Fish Called Coogee makes that experience a healthy one. The buzzing, down-to-earth venue is steps from the beach, and offers fish, seafood and sides to cater to all appetites. Every meal is made to order using fresh ingredients, and there tends to be a queue on warmer nights, but it’s worth the wait.

Poke, a Hawaiian fish dish, that health nuts can’t get enough. There are poke places popping up everywhere, and Fishbowl in Bondi is one of the best. Available for pick-up and delivery (on Deliveroo and UBER Eats), you can opt for one of the five suggested bowls or build your own. Everything’s made fresh daily, and it’s bound to keep you feeling full for hours.

Over in Randwick, Rell’s Kitchen has nailed the art of healthy eating. The family-friendly café focuses on creating yummy, nourishing food using the best produce they can find. Its ‘Healthy Jar’ is an Instagrammer’s treat, featuring seasonal fruits, natural yoghurt, honey, nuts and seeds in a mason jar. When lunchtime rolls around, the falafel wrap and haloumi burger hook hungry families and professionals alike. The café is also on Deliveroo.

Broth Bar & Larder

The brainchild of a health coach, the café shines a spotlight on the benefits of broth, and it does it in a creative way. Along with steaming bowls of soup and chicken stock, it also offers a range of smoothies and raw treats you’d never guess contained bone broth. If you’re craving something sweet, try one of the vegan desserts – and prepare to be pleasantly surprised!

Earth to Table is a healthy hangout that specialises in raw and vegan food. The chefs do a brilliant job at making more virtuous alternatives to crowd favourites, so expect zucchini pasta with a creamy cashew sauce, pizza made with almond bases, raw cheesecakes and fig and walnut toast. Stop by (or order on Foodora) and get the famous Rainbow Seaweed Slaw for lunch.
