Rozelle’s Wholesome Side

An Inner West suburb known for its creative arts culture, local watering holes and weekly markets, Rozelle has also made a name for itself on Sydney’s organic foodie scene. This is one suburb where vegans, vegetarians and people who just love wholesome food can go to stock up on supplies or linger over a nourishing meal.

Raw meals, smoothies and desserts with a side of cleansing juice is what Ungaro Raw on Darling Street is all about. Further down the street, Egg of the Universe is a wholefoods café and yoga studio – a space where you really want to stay for a while, whether it’s joining a yoga class or choosing from a menu that explores the wholefood concept in their relaxed indoor/outdoor café.

Located in a heritage building on Evans Street, Harvest Vegetarian Restaurant is a popular dinner spot which also hosts a series of cooking classes. Chef Adam de Ath has released a cookbook which contains many of the recipes he uses in the restaurant.

Iku Wholefoods and The Cook’s Grocer provide nutritious pre-prepared food made from seasonal produce that is sourced daily. Alternatively, pick up your own produce from About Life, Herbie’s Spices or wander into neighbouring Lilyfield on the weekend for fresh produce at the Orange Grove Farmers’ Market.
