The Best Bars in Pyrmont for a Guaranteed Good Time

Here's our pick of the best bars in the Pyrmont precinct, fit for a Sunday sesh, date night, or after-work drinks.

The Quarryman's

Known for so much more than its glitzy Star City Casino (although Sokyo in the Star does get an honourable mention), Pyrmont's former industrial hub is home to an eclectic mix of slick watering holes and trendy cocktail dens, serving up some of the best tipples around.

Stylish hangouts grace the roofs of old English pubs, whilst cosy wine bars have set up camp in historic buildings from the 1700s.

Here's our pick of the best bars in the Pyrmont precinct, fit for a Sunday sesh, date night, or after-work drinks.

Terminus Hotel

Terminus Hotel

Opening in 1841 and last in operation in the 1980s, Terminus Hotel is one of Pyrmont’s historic watering holes. Retaining much of its original features, with some modern upgrades, the public bar pours the local’s favourite craft beers.

The menu is nothing short of delectable with standouts including the lamb ragu, the dry-aged beef burger and the pavlova for dessert. For Sunday sundowners, the courtyard is the place to be.

61 Harris Street, Pyrmont

Bar Zini

Bar Zini

Reflective of Pyrmont’s laid-back yet hospitable attitude, this is a venue that just keeps on giving.

By day, Bar Zini is a café that dishes up breakfast staples and great coffee and by night, they transform into a wine bar slash restaurant with a menu inspired by classic Italian dishes.

The Rooftop

The Rooftop

Pyrmont’s Quarryman’s Rooftop always delivers. Inspired by Palm Springs, it’s all pastels, timber floors, plush furnishings and lush greenery, plus a cacti garden on each table (naturally).

The cocktail list is excellent, too. We like the hazy margarita with tequila blanco, mezcal, lime juice, Cointreau, and guava nectar.

If you're peckish, their menu is perfect for sharing (think tacos, buffalo wings and charcuterie).

214-216 Harris Street, Pyrmont

The Quarryman's

The Quarryman's

If you're after the OG pub experience, head to The Quarryman's. This old-school pub has retained its original exterior feel with wooden floorboards and exposed brick walls throughout – all of which nods to the area’s working-class roots.

Here at the Quarryman Hotel, they have craft beer on tap and a pub menu that’s brimming with the classics.

214-216 Harris Street, Pyrmont

Sokyo Bar

Sokyo Bar

There is more to Sokyo than delicious, award-winning food. Sokyo Bar thoughtfully pairs expertly crafted cocktails with their delicate Japanese menu, created by Chef Chase Kojima.

The cocktail menu plays on traditional, seasonal flavours with added Japanese flair, but their specialty is Japanese whiskey, beer and sake.

We'd also recommend something off their signature cocktails list because it's all amazing... but if you only pick one, make it the Chasing Kojima 2.0 with Yuzu saké, pink grapefruit, lemongrass, elderflower and Peychaud’s lemongrass foam.

80 Pyrmont Street, Pyrmont

Gallon

Gallon

Set in a historic building from the 1800s, Gallon is one of the best bars in Pyrmont that exudes charm and character – from the rustic-chic interiors to the courtyard garden.

They have an impressive wine list that pairs nicely with the gourmet pizza and share plates. If you're after something lighter, the menu is expansive with hummus, grilled chicken salad, and falafel salad also on offer.

117 Harris Street, Pyrmont

Mister Percy

Mister Percy

A neighbourhood wine bar that is passionate about pouring a thoughtful collection of boutique local and international drops, Mister Percy is one of the best bars in Pyrmont.

Their Spanish-inspired menu is ideal for sharing,  showcasing classic Mediterranean flavours and dishes.

139 Murray Street, Pyrmont

Pyrmont Bridge Hotel

Pyrmont Bridge Hotel

Nestled between Darling Harbour and The Star, Pyrmont Bridge Hotel is a beloved late-night haunt.

The bar and bistro are open til 6am, so order a grazing board, a serve of crispy onion rings, or the Thai beef salad.

The pub also pops off on the weekends and the rooftop terrace has a stunning view of the harbour, making this one of the best beers in Pyrmont from drinks with a view.
