Sydney favourite, The Grounds, is a great place to spend the day with friends and family. With its signature laid-back, organic vibe, this popular Alexandria oasis is an all in one produce market, florist, café, restaurant, bar and bakery. All linked by outdoor paths, it is the best place for weekend coffee dates with your pooch.

Mecca Coffee

Mecca Coffee, an icon on Sydney's cafe scene,  takes its coffee seriously, and they’re just as passionate about teaching the public just how it’s done. At their industrial chic Alexandria site, you can watch a roastery up close while sipping on your brew of choice (and there are plenty to choose from!). Think siphon, cold-drip, filter or espresso.

After the success of its North Curl Curl location, Cooh expanded to Alexandria, and the space is lush. When you’re with your furry friend, head to the verandah (dedicated to dogs), and feast on the menu of organic, wholesome dishes. COOH sources organic produce, and makes almost everything else in-house, so their dishes are bursting with flavour and nutrition.

Meet Gerard

Situated in the midst of Alexandria’s burgeoning creative scene, the folks behind Meet Gerard have created a small, light-filled sanctuary. The brainchild of two friends – a chef and a barista – this corner café is all about good wholesome breakfast, lunch and everything in-between.

Bread and Circus Wholefoods Canteen

This utterly ‘grammable haunt in Alexandria is the ideal location to set up shop over a breakfast, lunch or stream of coffees. The Copper Mill

An industrial-chic café in Alexandria, The Copper Mill was created by the founder of Chippendale favourite, The Shortlist. A brunch time destination, the interiors play on the timber, exposed brick and copper pipes, which all add intrigue to a space that is all about hearty and delicious meals.

Sub-Station Cafe

Tucked away in an old electrical substation, this light-filled café serves Single Origin coffee, freshly-baked treats, and a menu of breakfast classics, like gourmet bacon and egg rolls, granola and avocado toast. Sub Station Cafe's main attraction is its lush, green courtyard; a welcome escape from the hustle and bustle of Alexandra's business hub.
