The Best Bars for Two-up This Anzac Day
Anzac Day. It’s the only day of the year when Aussies can legally bet on coin tossing, and locals from all over love to get involved with the tradition. Better still, a lot of venues will be giving back to various Veterans charities through two-up. Post dawn service, here’s where to go to flip coins come April 25.

With its history and old-world charm, Fortune of War is an ideal spot to raise a glass to the diggers. The bar and bistro will open at 6am for breakfast (you can’t go wrong with the bacon and egg roll!), and two-up begins at 11am.

Opening its doors at 8am on Anzac Day, The Argyle is the perfect place to pick up a BBQ brekky roll just after the dawn service. The Argyle’s courtyard transforms into a giant two-up arena from 1pm to 3pm, with live music and entertainment throughout the day.

With the biggest outdoor two-up arena in the city, The Australian Heritage Hotel is a great place to play – or just watch – the legendary game. The pub is also offering a Diggers Breakfast from 6am, and a special performance from the Scot's Marching Band.

If you decide to go to the Glenmore for Anzac Day, know that a) you’re probably going to have to wait in line for a little while, and b) it will be worth it. Even if you don’t play, the rooftop is a winner with two-up starting from midday.

As always, this Surry Hills bar will be going all out for Anzac Day, with two-up as well as raffles and a true blue menu. Sydney Brewery 4 Pines will be taking over the taps and $1 from each schooner sold will go to Legacy.

Arrive early from 10am, before two-up kicks off at 12pm. The pub will also play the Anzac Day rugby league, union and AFL football games on multiple screens.
2A Oxford Street, Woollahra
Come April 25, the eastern suburbs set flocks to The Royal Hotel to play two-up, and this year will be no different. The action will take place in the laneway from 10am, and expect live music and food specials throughout the day.
381 Clovelly Road, Clovelly
The Beach Club is the idyllic setting for two-up, which will start at midday. With live music, DJ’s and a special performance from the NSW Pipe Band, you’ll be feeling utterly patriotic as you look across the iconic harbour throughout the afternoon.

This Rozelle local will be opening its doors from 11am for lunch, with two-up starting at 1pm on the dot. Go hungry so you can devour the juicy lamb burger.
197 Evans Street, Rozelle
Newtown Hotel will be hosting two-up from midday to sundown with drag queens Minnie Cooper and Hannah Conda. Snack on $4 pizzas and $10 burgers all day with DJ's on the decks from sundown to close.
174 King Street, Newtown
After the dawn service, make your way over to this fun Inner West haunt and settle in for a day of heckling, munching and sipping. Two-up will be hosted in the beer garden from midday and $2 from every jug of Reschs will go to Legacy.

Commemorate the diggers with a game of two-up in the main bar from 1pm, before moving to the beer garden to enjoy the live music from 6:30pm. It gets rowdy, so get there early to secure your spot.
156 Norton Street, Leichhardt
On the Northern Beaches, the Harbord Beach Hotel is the place to meet up with friends this Anzac Day. Each year the crowd gets bigger and bigger, with two-up running from 12pm-6pm.

It's all happening at Manly's Hotel Steyne this Anzac Day with two-up from 12pm and $5 VB tinnies. As you start to feel hungry there will be a gold coin donation BBQ from 3pm-5pm.
75 The Corso, Manly
On Anzac Day, Manly Wharf Hotel has a lot to offer: two-up on the jetty, $16 jugs of James Squire One Fifty Lashes, and DJs from 5pm. It’s a party that’s definitely worth checking out.
East Esplanade, Manly Wharf
The newly renovated Park House has a bumper Anzac Day planned with doors opening from 10am. Two-up will be hosted outdoors from 12pm and a huge lineup of DJ's will take their turn on the decks throughout the day.

LOWER NORTH SHORE
On Anzac Day head down to the Commodore for a cold one from 12pm. This McMahons Point establishment runs two-up from 1pm-5pm and for those wanting to exercise their minds, trivia is from 7pm.
206 Blues Point Road, McMahons Point
Each year, North Shore locals make a beeline for Hunters Hill Hotel. The doors open at 8am, and two-up starts at 12 sharp. When the games are done and dusted, live music and entertainment takes over from 7pm.
64 Gladesville Road, Hunters Hill
After the march head north of the bridge to the Kirribilli Hotel for a spot of lunch and two-up from 12pm. To add to the atmosphere, live music and entertainment will run throughout the afternoon from 2pm.
37 Broughton Street, Milsons Point
One of the only venues in Mosman hosting two-up this Anzac Day, The Buena is the place to go for those on the Lower North Shore. In the Vista Bar, 'come in spinner' will sound from midday.
76 Middle Head Road, Mosman
One of the best places to flip coins north-side is the Great Northern Hotel. After playing and making your contribution to Legacy, stick around to take advantage of the food and drink specials.

After the dawn service head straight to The Greengate Hotel from 10am. Get in early to secure your spot ringside for two-up and enjoy the buzzy atmosphere all-day.
