Brought to us by the ever-impressive Speakeasy Group, Nick and Nora’s is an impressively opulent and luxurious 1920s-themed. High above Sydney’s second CBD, on the 26th floor of the V Building, Nick and Nora’s is one of the most exciting bars in Parramatta. Glitz and Gatsby-esque glamour is all the rage at this establishment with a cocktail list inspired by a murder mystery and menu that reads like a Hitchcock thriller. This bar has to be seen to be believed!
Level 26, 45 Macquarie Street, Parramatta
This New York-style dive bar is one of Sydney’s best kept secrets. Hidden underneath a carpark, this is one of the coolest bars in Parramatta. With absolutely no signage you’ll have to be very much in-the-know to find this joint. They have a great range of craft beers and whisky but it’s their bespoke cocktails that will have you coming back for more. Our top pick is Kurt’s Flower Girl with spiced blueberry, house-made orange bitters, vodka and a flower garnish. If drinking leads to snacking, then it’s worth noting they do a killer Reuben.
Horwood Place, Parramatta
Alex&Co is ‘the place to be in Parramatta’. With a neon pink staircase, stunning floral arrangements and a beautifully back-lit bar, this is the perfect place to settle in for a long evening with mates. Their menu is packed with playful takes on modern classics made with the best seasonal ingredients, from grilled Moreton Bay bugs to mushroom truffle gnocchi. However, it’s their signature cocktails that make Alex&Co one of the best bars in Parramatta. From the Milky Way cocktail made with ink gin, lemon, mint, butterfly pea and tonic, to majorly moreish share cocktails like the Belvedere Peach Please, you’re going to want to stay for more than just one drink.
330 Church Street, Parramatta
The Albion Hotel, or Albie’s to those in the know, is essentially your run-of-the-mill local pub but with a bit of a facelift. Settle into their enchanting and expansive beer garden and sink a drink or six. The pub boasts a great range of craft beers on tap as well as an extensive cocktail list. They’ve got the reputation for having the best pub grub in Parra, however, for us, it was the fact that they’ll whip up a toastie after the kitchen is closed (to satisfy their punters tipsy cravings) that truly earned them a spot as one of the best bars in Parramatta.
135 George Street, Parramatta
Raise a glass to glamour and sophistication at this heritage-listed bar in Parramatta. Located in the heart of Parramatta in a 1920s-building, you can expect whiskey flights as well as a whimsical cast of cocktails. From the The Banker’s Wife, a sweet sipper with vodka and Aperol, to The Banker Mistress, a naughtier drink, you are in for a treat. Or, you could just cut out the middleman and drink The Bank itself, a deadly concoction with strawberry-cinnamon-infused vodka drink with dry gin, Lillet Blanc and a hint of Absinthe.
Level 1, 215 – 217 Church Street, Parramatta
Don your best Diane Lane ‘Under the Tuscan Sun’ linen look and head down to The Emporium for a vino. A café by day and restaurant and bar by night, their wine list and food offerings are both sublime. Enjoy some charcuterie, Hiramasa kingfish ceviche or rock oysters and a glass of chianti beneath the gorgeous Jacaranda and string light canopy at one of the best-loved bars in Parramatta.
51 Phillip Street, Parramatta
Breaking away from the main drag where you’ll find most of the bars in Parramatta, Port Bar is a riverside gem known for its relaxed atmosphere, cocktails and craft beers. The perfect place to kick back with friends and family after a long day on the grind, beer lovers will be besotted by the 24 beers on tap!

On the ground floor of Parramatta's Park Royal Hotel you’ll find Bar 30. You can always trust hotel bars to provide a top-end tipple and this establishment does not disappoint. The bar was a major beneficiary of the hotel’s $25 million refurbishment and now boasts a chic contemporary atmosphere with an indoor-outdoor feel. Plus, if you love a good deal (and who doesn’t?) take note because, out of all the bars in Parramatta, Bar 30 hosts one of the best happy hours with $5 wines and $12 cocktails. Check them out on Friday and Saturday nights to take advantage of their live music offerings.

In neighbouring Rosehill, you’ll find one of our favourite spots for a Sunday session. The newly renovated Rosehill Bowling club offers greens for barefoot bowls, a bistro and, of course, a bar. Beers and bowling go together like milk and honey, so put the two together and hit up this Western Sydney spot.
James Ruse Drive & Hassall Street, Rosehill
Just a stone’s throw from Parramatta station, this local mainstay, never disappoints. With a beer garden and a sports bar, this is the perfect spot to settle in for a night filled with schnittys, sports and beers. In fact, of all the bars in Parramatta, nay in all of Western Sydney, this is the only spot with fresh beer tanks onsite! And, if you’re ever looking for a place for kick-ons, you can count on this place to be open almost all night long.
