For the quintessential Bondi Beach experience, ‘Hardware’ on Hall Street delivers. The cool, rustic-chic restaurant (think exposed brick walls, hanging greenery and wooden beams) serves up tapas-style food and seriously good cocktails. The soundtrack is always great, too.

A Tavola Bondi
This is A Tavola’s second outpost, and it’s just as good as the Darlinghurst original. The pasta is made fresh daily, and the menu features a simple selection as well as weekly specials, many of which focus on fresh, sustainable seafood. Our advice? Pair your meal with an Italian wine and save room for dessert.
When Bills arrived in Bondi Beach, it was the ‘it’ restaurant – and that hasn’t changed. The space is light-filled, airy and casual, and the food is modern Australian with a twist. Celebrity chef Bill Granger studied interior design and fine art before becoming a restaurateur, so it’s no surprise that his eateries are stunning spaces.
Da Orazio Pizza + Porchetta
Led by restaurateur Maurice Terzini (from Bondi Icebergs) and chef Orazio D’Elio (ex Popolo), this pizza and porchetta venue is as warehouse-chic as it is authentic. It’s laidback and the waiters busily bop between tables, stopping to chat with patrons in between.
Blanca Bar & Dining
Meaning blank canvas, Blanca is a welcome addition to Bondi Beach’s dining scene. Mixing Mediterranean flavours with Japanese style cooking – an interesting mix, but it works. The restaurant is spread over two levels, a vibrant atmosphere downstairs and a cosy one upstairs.
Italians are all about savouring the finer things in life, which is why no meal is complete without dessert. That’s where Pasticceria Papa comes in. A must-stop on any foodie tour of Bondi, the iconic bakery is famous for its ricotta cheesecakes and Ferrero Rocher mousse. Did we mention that the coffee is amazing too?

Can Cava Pintxos & Wine
There’s tapas, and then there’s pintxos: bite-sized morsels of food on toothpicks. It hails from Barcelona, as does the team behind this cosy Bondi Beach wine bar. Inside, you’ll find hand painted Spanish tiles and terracotta walls, while the outdoor area has a case of puppy love.
