A Winter Guide to Coastal Getaways

Thinking about a winter escape? There’s no need to jet off to far-flung places, when the most beautiful coastal towns in the world are right on Sydney’s doorstep. Sure, you might not be swimming, but you can cosy up while listening to the waves crash against the shore. Plus, there’s something so sweet about soaking up the sea views for a much cheaper price than you would in the summer. Just sayin’.

The Cape

Steps away from Culburra Beach, this Hamptons-style holiday house sleeps up to 12 people. It’s spacious and cosy at the same time, with six bedrooms, multiple entertaining areas, and an indoor fireplace that calls for curling up with a book on those wintry afternoons. Oh, and The Cape doesn’t have WiFi, making it the perfect place to really unwind.

The country meets the coast at Soul of Gerringong, a rural retreat close to the seaside town of its namesake (near Berry). You can shack up in one of guestrooms in the Soul Farmhouse or have the Soul Barn or Soul Cabana to yourself. Curl up in front of the fireplace at The Farmhouse, otherwise the Soul Barn comes with complete privacy, its own living space and kitchenette.
