8 Kid-Friendly Restaurants on Sydney’s Lower North Shore

There is no shortage of great dining spots on Sydney’s Lower North Shore, but let’s be honest, dining out and children don’t always go hand in hand. Every parent is looking for the perfect trifecta; great food, relaxing environment and activities to keep the kids at bay. We have rounded up some of our favourite restaurants on the Lower North Shore that cater to the whole family in their own unique way

Four Frogs Creperie

Watch the chefs at work, making traditional and authentic French crepes and galettes (savoury crepes). The tricky part is choosing your filling. The kids’ menu consists of simple favourites, including ham and cheese galette and Nutella crepe.  There may not be a lot of room to run around here, but the colouring in sheets and busy chefs will keep the kids at bay.

Mosman and Lane Cove

Borruso’s

Woodfired pizza’s and a bustling atmosphere, Borruso’s is a win win for an easy Friday night feast. Tucked away off Strathallen Avenue, Borruso’s is an enduring pizza joint. For those with gluten intolerance, Borruso’s was voted best gluten free bases in Sydney. Delicious pizza aside, Borruso’s more than caters to families; colouring sheets and plenty of pencils are mandatory and so is a good appetite.

Bathers Pavilion

Combining beautiful food with incredible views, Bather's Pavilion is a stylish yet relaxed with colourful high chairs for the babies and toddlers. The children's menu has plenty of options from seafood dishes to the classic pizza and pasta offerings. When the kids have had their fill let them burn their energy at the nearby playground or along the sandy shore of Balmoral Beach.

The Greens North Sydney

A light-filled space with an outdoor chic garden party vibe. This restaurant-slash-bar caters well to families. When not in play, kids can run around on the greens, or for the older ones, there is plenty of green space in St Leonards Park or the courts to ride their bikes and scooters. The Greens hosts family-friendly events throughout the year, so keep an eye on their events page.

50 Ridge Street, North Sydney

The Diddy

Much to the delight of local families who flock here over the weekend, The Diddy (aka Longueville Sporting Club), has embraced the trend of bowling green’s turning into a restaurant-slash-bar. Kids have free reign of the greens with impromptu cricket and sports games starting up, while parents keep a watchful eye from the outdoor deck. The kids menu features all the pub classics style meals plus a baby gelato cone.

Their breakfast offerings of classic cereal favourites and pancakes, to their lunch and dinner menu of sausages and ham and cheese melts. Book a table outside and let the kids run around Cammeray Square.

Plonk! Beach Café

Plonk! more than capitalises on its location, looking over Middle Harbour and situated right next to the Spit Bridge – a sun soaked deck for the grownups and a sandy stretch of beach for the kids – it seriously doesn’t get much better than this. Dishing up breakfast and lunch every day of the week, but dinner is a Thursday to Saturday affair with a modern menu and classic non-fuss meals for the kids.

Fergusons Boatshed Marina, The Spit Bridge, Mosman

The Incinerator Café

Located between Willoughby Leisure Centre and Hallstrom Park, The Incinerator can get very busy.
