Where to Find Sydney’s Most Delicious Mocktails This Dry July

Looking for alcohol-free inspiration to kick-start Dry July? We’ve sipped our way around the city's best bars and restaurants to bring you this edit of the best mocktails in Sydney.

Gin Lane

Cutting out alcohol, whether for a month, a week or a year, holds plenty of benefits for your mental and physical health. And if you're doing it for a good cause like Dry July, even better. Whatever your reason, we applaud you! But no need to miss out on a night out, eh?

There are more options than ever when it comes to alcohol-free bevvies in Sydney so you won't be stuck drinking flavoured mineral water anytime soon. Here, we round up the Sydney bars and restaurants that have mastered the best mocktails.

Gin Lane

Gin Lane

Sure, this charming little cocktail den specialises in gin – 75 delicious varieties to be exact – but Gin Lane is big on options so you can order their entire cocktail menu alcohol-free. Putting a 'dry' twist on some perennial classics, quench your thirst with the likes of a Lyre's Negroni or Zero Alcohol Spritz. Served by cocktail masters at the top of their game and packed with flavour, we guarantee you won't leave disappointed. If you love your mocktails with flair and theatrics, you won't find anywhere better.

16A Kensington Street, Chippendale

Apollonia

Apollonia

Tucked under Hinchliff House and down a narrow alley, a trip to Apollonia always feels a little magic. The exposed sandstone walls and abundance of candles ensure the experience is as moody as can be. Their cocktail menu is curated to perfection, keeping things minimal and manageable, and their non-alch options are just as schmick. The bar tenders here are a level up so if there's anything you fancy, we're sure they'll do their best to deliver.

Basement, Hinchcliff House, 5-7 Young Street, Sydney

Nomad

NOMAD

Nomad, everyone’s favourite Middle Eastern restaurant has aced their mocktail menu. There are five cocktails to choose from including the Nogroni, and the Amaretti Sour, made up of Lyre's Amaretti, lemon, sugar, bitters and whites. Our pick? The mandarin highball with mandarin, turmeric, ginger and soda - yummo! If you fancy something simple, the yuzu soda and hibiscus & Elderflower iced tea are also delicious non-alcoholic options.

Ito

Easily one of our favourite 2024 restaurant openings, Ito doesn't just deliver on incredible Japanese-Italian fusion fare. Ito's non-alcoholic drinks menu is equally as thoughtful with flavour combinations you won't have had before. There's one to pair with each course!

413-415 Crown Street, Surry Hills

Saké

Saké

Saké match the number of mocktails on their drinks list to the number of signature cocktails, so you'll always have choice. You can expect plenty of fun and fresh flavours with the likes of yuzu, lychee and aloe vera. Enjoy some of the best Japanese in Sydney with the mocktails to match!

Locations across Sydney

Rekodo

Rekodo

Head over to this vinyl listening bar for a relaxing evening full of flavour. You'll always be able to find a selection of Japanese-inspired mocktails on their list so prepare to sample a selection. Think amaretto sour, spritz and mouth-watering yuzu sodas. Pair this with Rekodo's scrumptious bites and you've got a match made in heaven.

35 Barangaroo Avenue, Barangaroo

Catalina

Catalina

There's no need to miss out on Catalina’s million-dollar view of the harbour if you've gone alcohol-free. Just sip on one of their delicious mocktails instead! The Homemade Seasonal Lemonade – pear, lemon juice, sugar syrup and soda – tastes vibrant, as does the kaffir mule - Seedlip garden, kaffir lime, ginger and orgeat topped with ginger beer.
