This Is the Ultimate Way to Celebrate Margarita March in Melbourne

One of the city’s most loved restaurant groups is celebrating a beloved cocktail with classic and custom creations.

Mamas Dining Group

We’ve partnered with Mamas Dining Group and Patrón to share the best way to dine in style and celebrate Margarita March by pairing your meal with classic and unique Patrón margaritas.

It’s no secret that Melbourne plays host to some of the best restaurants in the world. With a thriving restaurant, wine and bar scene, it’s become a must-visit destination for anyone looking to get their foodie fix.

But this month, there’s one particular group of restaurants on our dining to-do list, thanks to a collaboration with the world's number one premium tequila brand. Mamas Dining Group - home to Melbourne icons Hochi Mama CBD and Richmond, Straight Outta Saigon and Kiss & Tell - are combining great food with the ultimate celebration of the world’s favourite drink: the margarita.

In partnership with Patrón, the world's finest tequila, they'll be serving up classic margaritas and hand-crafted, restaurant-exclusive versions for just $15 each throughout Margarita March.

Melbourne Masters of Craft

Mamas Dining Group

Since late 2015, Mamas Dining Group has been making its mark on Melbourne’s vibrant dining scene. The mission of the group’s four venues is clear: to provide an unforgettable dining experience with great food, a captivating atmosphere and affordable prices.

Whether you’re enjoying the bold flavours of South Vietnam at Hochi Mama CBD or Hochi Mama Richmond, sampling the modern twists on Vietnamese street food at Straight Outta Saigon or chowing down on the ultimate marrying of Asian fusion and bespoke cocktails at Kiss & Tell, each venue has a unique, raw energy inspired by 90’s hip-hop and the bustling, captivating culture of Vietnam.

The restaurants are a match made in heaven for Patrón, who use time-tested methods to create the world's finest tequila. Each step in the crafting of their tequila is a lesson in patience and perfection: from the care taken to select Weber Blue Agave with the highest sugar content, to the baking, fermentation and distilling process, right through to the picture-perfect bottling.

Partnering with the Masters of Craft that are the chefs and mixologists from Mamas Dining Group, from February 28 until March 31, they are serving up delicious margaritas to celebrate Margarita March. Each restaurant will serve up a classic Patrón margarita and a special Mamas Margarita - the group’s twist on the Tommy’s made with Patrón, agave syrup and lime juice.

The cocktails are $15 each and pair perfectly with the delicious dishes on each venue’s menu (because the perfect way to enjoy Patrón is responsibly). Plus, every restaurant will craft its own exclusive Patrón margarita, only available throughout March.

At Hochi Mama CBD, the dining group’s signature spot, enjoy a Honey Mama paired with a Hochi Chicken Bao and Mama’s Beef Rib. With honeydew as the main fruit component, expect a mellow sweetness and refreshing citrus flavour - finished with a spicy and salty Tajin honeydew garnish - in this creative take on a classic margarita.

If you want something a little spicier, try the Spiced Fusion at Hochi Mama Richmond, which incorporates the herby characteristics of coriander and sake with chilli and lime. Enjoy it with Hanoi Style Curry and Pork and Prawn Dumplings.

Head to Kiss & Tell on Little Bourke Street for a Smooth Operator, a summer-inspired take on a Tommy's. Mango nectar's hit of freshness and sweetness contrasts creatively with the margarita's citrus flavours. Plus, it's sure to go down a treat with King Fish Sashimi and a Hot Custard Bun for dessert.

The Watermelon High is the perfect accompaniment for Rice Paper Rolls and Vietnamese Curry at the street-food-inspired Straight Outta Saigon. With a distinct watermelon freshness, a spicy and salty Tajin watermelon adds an unexpected element to finish.

Be sure to book in quickly, as the cocktails are only available until the end of March. Gather your friends and try them all on the ultimate food and drink lover’s adventure.

18+. Drink responsibly.
