Rumour Has It

Since opening its doors in late 2021, Rumour Has It has quickly earned locals' tick of approval thanks to its modern, inner-city vibe with cosy, neighborhood charm. The delightful eatery delivers big on the food front, all elevated classics that highlight local and seasonal produce. Our top picks include the salted caramel French toast, the ocean trout gravlax and crispy hash brown with nduja scrambled eggs, which are just as easy on the eyes as they are on the palate.

Serving up a hearty dose of Australian flair, there are house made buttermilk crumpets with the option of sweet or savoury; carrot cake (carrot marmalade, whipped cream cheese, and walnut) or chunky avocado and vegemite, with melted cheese; and hotcakes with deep fried Milo ice cream. Yum! Nigel

Nigel

Come to Nigel's for a great cup of coffee. That's it, that's the te...coffee. Also on the menu: jaffles, toasties and sandwiches. Jaffle wise, the creamy tuna melt is an underrated gem, and the poached chicken sandwich is a winner too. The space is small, but with a clean and contemporary fit-out that still allows for the elegance of terrazzo tiles, timber furnishings and a deep green ceiling. Each morning the countertop cloche is packed with home-baked sweets, so it really is a go-to for on-the-go breakfast in Camberwell.
