With lovebirds in mind – Valentine's Day will be here before you know it – we’ve gathered together the ultimate list of romantic must visits in the area, all of which we’re confident you’ll fall madly in love with.
1. Visit Lake Daylesford

2. Chase waterfalls
Accessed from Trentham Scenic Reserve Road, be sure to make your way to the stunning Trentham Falls — one of Victoria’s longest single drop waterfalls. For the best views, take the easy walk from the carpark to the viewing area, and don’t forget to pack a picnic with you.
3. Enjoy a couple spa day
Daylesford is Australia's spa capital, so a visit to the historic Hepburn Bathhouse & Spa is a must. Here you can choose to soak in a private steaming pool of mineral water, as well as make time to book in a couple’s massage.
4. Visit a lavender farm
If you’ve ever dreamt of floricking amongst a lavender farm, hand in hand with your other half, then head on over to Lavandula Swiss Italian Farm. Nestled amongst the rolling hills of Shepherds Flat, this property boasts European-style gardens, designed around original 1850s stone buildings.
5. Go hot air ballooning
Should you wish to go all out, take the romance to new heights by going on a hot air balloon ride. Picture This Ballooning operates hot-air balloon flights over the region, offering what may just be the most romantic way to view nature’s best show.
To top things off on a sweet note, visit the popular Chocolate Mill, located a short drive north of Daylesford. Here you’ll find the Hot Chocolate Cafe, serving hot chocolates, espresso coffees, cakes, and tarts, along with chocolate and ice-cream sundaes, and of course, freshly made chocolates.
Daylesford Cider not only acts as a cellar-door, but there’s also a beautiful tavern with a patio courtyard here — perfect for soaking up the sun with a cider in hand. During winter, you can order a warm spiced cider instead and cosy up inside next to the roaring open log fire.
2. Villa Parma
Originally built in 1864, Villa Parma is one of the last-standing Swiss-Italian buildings in the Daylesford region. And while the bones of this accommodation offering still retain their rustic charm, you can expect to find all of the moden creature comforts that you are looking for in a romantic stay.
If you’d prefer to stay in a home away from home, rather than a hotel, consider a stay at the Vintage House Daylesford. This 1860's miners cottage on the border of Daylesford and Hepburn Springs, has been renovated and styled as though it has been plucked straight from a designer magazine.
