Known as one of Brisbane’s most thriving cultural hotspots, West End has an offbeat and gritty character that Brisbanites just can’t get enough of. A multicultural centre for nightlife, this inner-city district hosts a plethora of cafés, bars, and restaurants that attract visitors at all hours of the day and night.

With its rich multicultural history, bustling eateries and thriving nightlife, West End is a one-of-a-kind precinct cherished by locals and people from all over Brisbane. Sitting on the border of the South Bank cultural precinct and in close proximity to the Brisbane CBD, this youthful suburb attracts a diverse crowd and continues to build a reputation as one of the city’s most sought-after social hubs.

Parties such as Paniyiri are not a rare sight in West End – the area is renowned for its vibrant life after dark. A smorgasbord of eateries and late-night bars line Boundary and Vulture Streets, the area’s main thoroughfares. Crowds often spill onto neighbouring streets well into the early hours.

Live music is a feature of most of West End's pubs and clubs, and other well-established music venues can be found within the suburb’s borders.

West End’s nocturnal action and its proximity to the CBD and multiple universities draw a strong student contingent, which results in a youthful atmosphere in the area.

In contrast to the thriving inner parts of the suburb, West End features pockets of residential accommodation with traditional Queenslander homes on generous blocks of land perched on the higher terrain.
