Striking the perfect balance between work and play, laid-back Maroochydore with its prime location and waterfront access, takes life in its stride. And although Maroochydore is the bustling business hub of the Sunshine Coast, the sparkling shoreline and green open spaces will give you a taste of the great outdoors.

Lifestyle

A place where surfie vibes and suits collide, Maroochydore – the CBD of Queensland’s Sunshine Coast – is flanked by the crashing swells of the deep blue and the calm waters of the Maroochy River. And although easy-going days are always high on the agenda, Maroochydore hits the mark when it comes to urban living by the sea.

Being the main hub of the region, Maroochydore’s town centre is teeming with brick and mortars selling their wares. From boutique shopfronts to big-name brands, Sunshine Plaza and Big Top Market Fresh are at the centre of it all, while Cotton Tree Street Markets have you trading with local providores, growers and artisans first-hand.

Maroochydore capitalises on its waterfront location. The local foodie scene is overflowing with fresh from the trawler seafood – from traditional no-frills fish n’ chips to decadent crustacean fare. Once locals have their fill, they hit the long walking tracks that link Maroochydore with neighbouring Alexandra Headlands and Mooloolaba.

An outdoor enthusiast’s dream, Maroochydore is a water wonderland – surfing, swimming, paddling, gliding, cruising, you name it, there is a place for it here. And locals are equally spoiled by being only a short drive to neighbouring coastal towns of Mooloolaba and Noosa. On land, playing fields and parklands are in abundance, catering well to weekend sports and the lush hinterland region is close at hand.

Then throw an international airport, well-regarded schools and a university into the mix; it’s little wonder Maroochydore is a hot spot on the Sunshine Coast.
