Taste the Aperol! Sydney’s Best Spritzers

With the weather warming up, you can almost taste the Aperol, can’t you? In Sydney, summer and spritzers go hand in hand, so be it a lazy afternoon or a balmy evening, these are the places to go and enjoy a refreshing spritzer. Time to up your spritzer game.

Watson’s Bay Boutique Hotel

Aperol is best enjoyed with a solid dose of sun, and one of the greatest summer venues is popular for good reason. Watson’s Bay Boutique Hotel do an impressive Aperol Spritz and boast one of the best views in town. Roll in for an afternoon session, or roll up from the beach for a post-swim spritz. Finding a table is tough in the warmer months, but the wait is worth it.

For a quintessential Sydney session, spend a Sunday afternoon at Bondi’s Icebergs. An affordable drop can be found in the Bistro, which is one floor down donning the same exceptional view. Steal a corner balcony table and enjoy a slew of Aperol Spritzers. Those feeling fanciful should remain upstairs at the Icebergs bar. Drink the No.970 of Plymouth Sloe Gin, St Germain, Aperol and prosecco.

1 Notts Avenue, Bondi Beach

North Bondi Fish

The two most important summer bar traits are the spritzer list and accompanying view. North Bondi Fish delivers on both fronts here. With the Cucumber Spritz being a consistent crowd pleaser, you’ll enjoy a mix of belvedere vodka, elderflower liqueur, cucumber and prosecco overlooking North Bondi Beach. With a view like this, Cucumber Spritz is bound to become a plural.

The name doesn’t lie, and this really is the place for an exceptional spritzer. The bar dons a Nordic-inspired fit out and a bright, concise cocktail menu. There’s just four cocktails and four spritzers available but quality is what counts. With concoctions like the Gloss of strawberry, Ketel One Citroen, watermelon Riesling and rosewater, you won’t be steering away from the spritzer menu.

The Glenmore Hotel

A rooftop and spritz go hand in hand, and do you know who knows this? The Glenmore. Boasting the best view in The Rocks, this old hotel doesn’t lack in new school taste and they’ve adopted the Aussie spritz trend Italians have known for centuries. Order the Aperol Spritz here which feature additions of blood orange puree, and take in the views of Circular Quay.

A post-work spritz is found at Hotel Palisade, the hidden gem of Millers Point and spritz lists. Steal a seat atop the Henry Deane bar, where chairs and booths overlook the harbour. Only a short stroll from the city, the bar offers a Sun-Kissed Spritz of Plymouth gin, Regal Rogue White, Suze, honey, basil and soda. We didn’t think a drink could rival the view here, but they’ve nailed it.

35 Bettington Street, Millers Point

Ms G’s

A good Aperol concoction goes a long way, and Ms G’s doesn’t disappoint on this front. With an impressive Aperol Spritz on the menu, the drinking potential rivals the food menu here. Pair a spritzer or three with their exceptional modern Asian dishes, or indulge in a truly sweet experience. Order the Hello Spritty of Plymouth gin, pink grapefruit, Thai basil, Benedictine and prosecco along with their Stoner’s Delight dessert.
