These beer garden’s in Sydney’s Inner West were made for lazy afternoons.
The last few years have overseen gentrification in the area, and the bars have stepped up accordingly. Locals and passers by now have a wide selection of beer gardens to choose from, and once their decision is made a spritz or prosecco is guaranteed to be enjoyed. So here are some of the best beer gardens in the inner west, to make the decision a little easier. Wouldn’t want to keep the Aperol waiting.
No longer a Newtown secret, The Courty (as the locals call it) has a huge beer garden drawing in an equally large crowd of students, tradies, professionals and families. On the weekend, this means you need to secure your spot early as tables fill up quickly with locals grabbing a beer and a side of sunlight in the afternoons. The character-filled pub extends to its fit out, with Swans memorabilia scattered throughout the premises and an old-school pub menu displayed on the walls. Picnic tables are dispersed throughout the beer garden with massive white umbrellas and leafy trees casting shade over patrons wanting to retreat from the sunlight with their jug of beer. A classic old school pub loved just the way it is.
