STEPNEY

GET TO KNOW
THE AREA

Stepney is a small yet lively suburb on the city’s eastern fringe that has a rich heritage and contrasting architectural styles. With direct access to Adelaide City and close to Norwood and North Adelaide, locals don’t have to venture far for work, study or play.

Lifestyle

With strong industrial roots and an interesting mix of heritage architecture, Stepney provides a village-like atmosphere with direct access to the CBD. There’s a balance of residential homes and light industry – locals literally have everything at their fingertips.

This leafy area is surrounded by a number of prestigious schools. Direct access to North Terrace makes for an easy commute to the city. Residents tend to shop locally at the Avenues Shopping Centre but, come the weekend, locals head to Magill Road for the antique and homewares shops.

Stepney is also close to the foodie and retail outlets on Norwood Parade and O’Connell Street – there’s plenty of choice for shopping and dining. While many of Stepney’s streets are purely residential, there are also commercial businesses in the area, offering residents convenient access to retailers, wholesalers, manufacturers and health and professional services.

For a small neighbourhood, Stepney has quite a large area of green-space – Linde Reserve. It’s a well-loved area which includes a playground, open grass area and a natural creek. Adelaide Botanic Gardens, Adelaide Park Lands and Linear Trail are close at hand.
