Several boutique cellar-doors are based in the area where you can taste and purchase a huge range of wines from across the region. Or if you prefer the full experience, Hahndorf is just a short drive from some of the best wineries in the region including The Lane Vineyard, Nepenthe Wines and Shaw & Smith. Away from the main village, you can pick your own strawberries at Beerenberg Farm, take the children to the Hahndorf Farm Barn or get involved in local sport – basketball, netball, cricket, football and bowls are all popular.

Despite being in the heart of the Adelaide Hills, the town is well-serviced by public buses and is a smooth 25-minute commute to the CBD via the South Eastern Freeway. It’s a picturesque suburb in all seasons but autumn brings with it a special romance, with a beautiful show of colourful foliage lining the streets.

Farming families and winemakers lay claim to beautiful rustic properties in the surrounding areas, while retirees and families tend to stay close to the bustling Main Road for convenience and atmosphere.
