Lifestyle

Burnside is a place where the rugged Australian bush meets suburban comfort and lavish homes. Tucked away from it all on the cusp of the foothills, this leafy neighbourhood is within easy each to all that Adelaide has to offer. Just minutes from city conveniences and premier wine regions, Burnside is surrounded by a number of prestigious schools, great shopping and plenty of choice when it comes to dining and entertainment.

Sitting alongside Cleland National Park and at the bottom of Mount Lofty Summit, the area is surrounded by a natural playground that locals embrace. Walking trails lead to waterfalls and hidden valleys, and mountain biking tracks weave through native bushland, providing weekend fun for the fit and adventurous.

A predominantly residential area, locals enjoy living the high life. Large estate homes come complete with a pool, tennis court and spacious yards. Many properties boast impressive skyline views over Adelaide, the perfect backdrop for entertaining guests. Other homes enjoy the picturesque Waterfall Gully outlook, with native trees and foliage creating a kaleidoscope of colour through the changing seasons.

When they are not out enjoying the scenic surrounds or hosting elegant dinner parties at home, Burnside ladies can be found shopping and lunching at Burnside Village. Located in nearby Glenside, the Village offers a selection of cafés, high-end fashion shops, homewares and gourmet food stores.

Neighbours

Burnside has long been favoured by affluent families, professionals and successful business owners who enjoy the areas location, leafy green surroundings and convenience to the city.

There are plenty of older couples, singles and empty nesters here too. Having raised their families in the area they now enjoy the extra space and convenience that the suburb affords. Younger families tend to settle in nearby suburbs that are more affordable but make use of Burnsides open spaces and recreational facilities.

Locals love

Beautifully positioned, Burnside comes with a leafy hillside lifestyle minutes from the city centre and surrounding suburbs. Its location also provides residents with easy access to the Adelaide Hills wine region and beyond.

A winding drive along Waterfall Gully Road leads to the base of Adelaides famous Mount Lofty Summit hike. The 3.8-kilometre walk up and down the summit provides spectacular views, picturesque waterfalls and challenging trails.

Just shy of the suburbs western perimeter is a mecca of outdoor activity at Hazelwood Park. With shady trees, fitness equipment, playgrounds, ample parking and an excellent Olympic-sized swimming pool, Burnside locals treat it as their own – its a firm favourite with families all year.

Property

Burnside boasts some of Adelaides most illustrious homes, with generous allotments and spectacular views in perfect proximity to the city.

While some homes remain untouched, there is a constant wave of rejuvenation with architecturally-designed rebuilds popping up throughout the suburb. Many of the new homes take advantage of the suburbs elevated position, with large windows and balconies to maximise the views over Adelaide.

Newland Road exemplifies the Burnside aesthetic, with elegant family homes sitting comfortably in verdant surrounds. Iflould Drive and Burnalta Crescent are also highly prized for their expansive homes with gardens to match.
